With over 14 years experience in Counseling and Behavioral Treatment, Kenneth P Baker directs all programming for BTP. His curriculum vitae includes three years direction of the Domestic Violence and Anger Management Programs at Tennessee Christian Medical Center. Baker also bring years of experience to his work with offenders–from his service to the Davidson County General Sessions and Criminal Courts in Nashville, Tennessee, to his volunteer work for the Magdalene Prostitution Solicitation School (John School) of Metropolitan Davidson County. On a daily basis, Baker works closely with elected judges, attorneys, probation officers and case managers to reach optimal outcomes. He educates offenders and remediates criminal behaviors. Recognizing the need for written learning in cognitive behavioral treatment, Baker co-authored the workbook Rules are Made to be Followed which targets criminal impersonation and under-age drinking. Over the span of his career, Baker has developed a portfolio of original material to meet the counseling needs of individuals and groups, adults and adolescents alike. His broad curriculum of moral reconation and cognitive behavioral programs are cornerstone offerings of Behavioral Treatment Providers, where, for over eight years, Baker has acted as program director and owner/business manager. Under his leadership, Behavioral Treatment Providers LLC has obtained a host of State of Tennessee Licensures including State Certified Domestic Violence Treatment Provider; State Licensed Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Outpatient Treatment Facility; and State Licensed Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Twelve Hour DUI School.
Baker’s longtime path for treating substance abuse led him to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, with a Major in Interpersonal Communication and Human Relations and a Minor in Behavioral Science. He is a State Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor Tennessee #1019. He currently practices in Nashville, Tennessee, where he lives with his wife and three dogs.
Baker’s mentor, Dr. Gregory Little, is the Clinical Advisor for Behavioral Treatment Providers. He is a Nationally Certified Psychologist (NAMP) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (TN). He holds a Masters in Psychology and a Doctorate in Counseling from Memphis State University (now the Univ. of Memphis). For over 10 years, Little served as director of the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs at the Shelby County Correction Center and he worked five years in the institution’s Mental Health Unit. Little has authored or coauthored texts in psychopharmacology, criminal personality, substance abuse treatment, crisis intervention, and obesity. He has also created scores of cognitive-behavioral treatment workbooks on offender rehabilitation now used in 45 states and several countries. Nearly 90 outcome studies have been published on MRT, with over 600,000 offenders participating in the program. From 1990 to 1999, Little presented numerous approved substance abuse counselor trainings for Louisiana State University-Shreveport and other colleges. Dr. Little currently conducts research, consults for dozens of states and agencies, and writes for a variety of publications.
